I was in need of some hearty comfort food especially on a cloudy and rainy day in NYC. This location caught my attention with their bright red Ramen Goku neon sign at the front entrance. It offers Japanese dishes and one or two Goku themed dishes. The chicken dumplings were pan fried and bite size appetizers to enjoy before the main dish. I ordered the Shrimp Katsu Curry, this was exactly what I needed with crispy shrimps that filled me up and curry that was right level of creamy and thick sauce to pair with the rice. The curry was more potatoes over carrots ratio but still a delicious curry with big shrimp katsu. The music selection was mostly Japanese music which I absolutely enjoyed! My only issue was that the server who brought my dish didn't bring a spoon. So I asked for one and I could clearly hear the clash of silverware to get just a spoon. It was a bit unprofessional and loud especially when the space was calm and chill with music playing in the background. I would recommend coming here for some filling appetizers, classic ramen or curry, and overall good time by yourself or with friends

Their tonkotsu ramen is on the heartier side which is great if that's your preference like me. The chashu pork has a good portion size as well. Great for a cold day.

Small and cozy, with several small and medium sized tables. I tried the Spicy Tonkotsu which was decent. Service was quick and the staff was attentive. They do seem to have a time limit but as one member of our group was running late so we needed to order later, they were accommodating since there were still some empty tables. The ramen was not bad but also nothing to write home about. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to come back but it was a nice place to catch up with friends at and enjoy a meal.

Friends and I stopped by for a sunday lunch. everyone's foods were solid I got the spicy tonkotsu ($18 and i'm glad they don't charge extra to make it spicy). The broth was almost white/milky which was interesting but was delicious. Also their slabs of porkbelly are huge which is awesome. my friend said the tantanmen was good too. The chive cakes were pretty good with a crisp outside and chewy interior but a bit oily. service was great too. Sad that they don't do lunch specials on weekends but still good! def worth a visit

Came here with coworkers and got the lunch special. It includes edamame as a starter, a small appetizer and the main entree. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen. The broth was very creamy. It had thin wavy noodles, soft boiled egg, crunchy wood ear mushroom, and two big pieces of pork chashu. There wasn't a lot of noodles. The braised pork belly was delicious, although the pork slices were not consistent. One slice was thicker, so I guess it's a win. I love ramen so I don't mind trying new places. But I wish they provided more ramen. Maybe it was because I got the lunch special. The edamame was served warm and enjoyable. The Takoyaki was alright. The place was small but enough tables for groups.
